Description
El Padrino de Mi Tierra is a value range, and this is its reposado, a short rested counterpart to the blanco, made from agave azul, the single species tequila permits. The fruit is drawn from both valley lowland and highland fields in Jalisco, giving a base that keeps the agave present beneath the light oak.
Agave is cooked in brick hornos and autoclaves, milled on a roller mill, fermented in steel and twice distilled, then given a brief rest in American white oak before bottling at 40%. The wood shows as caramel and vanilla without burying the spirit: cooked and green agave, cut grass and a savoury olive note, with pepper and gentle oak through the finish.
