El Novio Perfecto 2025

El Novio Perfecto is made by the Compañía Vitivinícola del Mediterráneo, a Valencia project bringing together sommelier Bruno Murciano, winemaker David Sampedro Gil and the Valsangiacomo family. The wine is a semi-sweet blend of Moscatel de Alejandría and Viura from organically and biodynamically grown vineyards inland from the coast, where warm days ripen the aromatic Muscat fruit and cooler nights preserve freshness. Moscatel de Alejandría is naturally perfumed and grapey, and the winemaking keeps that aroma to the fore, stopping the fermentation while some natural grape sugar remains so the wine finishes gently sweet at a low 10 per cent alcohol. The Viura adds a citrus backbone that balances the sweetness and stops it feeling heavy. It is bright lemon yellow with green highlights. The nose is fragrant and floral, with white peach, apricot and orange peel over white flowers, elderflower and a touch of honey, and the palate is soft and lightly sweet, the grapey fruit lifted by fresh acidity into a clean finish. Serve well chilled at 8 to 10 degrees.
