Eigashima Shuzo White Oak Tokinoka Black

Eigashima Shuzo White Oak Tokinoka Black is a blended whisky from the Hyogo distillery, released for the European market at cask strength 50% in a 500ml format. Tokinoka Black is the higher-strength sibling of the standard Tokinoka blend, distinguished by its cask strength bottling and the inclusion of Virgin Oak alongside Ex-Bourbon in the maturation programme. As with other Eigashima blends, some component spirit may be sourced.

The Virgin Oak adds a significant layer of new wood spice, tannin and a coconut-like richness on top of the vanilla and cereal base that Ex-Bourbon typically provides. At 50% the expression has considerably more presence and structural weight than the standard 40% Tokinoka, making it the most assertive expression in the Tokinoka range and the natural choice for those who want more intensity from the Eigashima blend lineup.
