Description
The White Oak NAS is a blended whisky from Eigashima Shuzo, based in Akashi, Hyogo, where the distillery has held Japan's oldest whisky licence since 1919. Bottled at 40% for the global market, it represents the accessible, everyday side of a house that also produces aged single malts under the Akashi name.
Matured in Ex-Bourbon casks, the liquid shows citric brightness and fresh fruit alongside light honey and new wood, in keeping with the typically clean, lightly sweet character Eigashima builds at its coastal Hyogo site. Entry-level blends at this house can incorporate sourced spirit, so origin is not specified, but the profile is gently inviting and straightforward.
