Edradour from the distillery, a 10 year old, from 2012, cask 411, at 59.4%, 907 bottles in all. Edradour is a rich, oily Highland single malt made in the old farm buildings above Pitlochry. For years its sign read Scotland's smallest distillery; it now calls itself Scotland's little gem.

Made in the smallest of stills and condensed in worm tubs, giving the full bodied, creamy Highland spirit. Finished in an Oloroso cask, the wood building over the oily, full bodied spirit. By the integrating teens congeners fade and esters build, the rich, oily spirit growing creamier. Refill oak lets the rich, oily Edradour character lead the way. The worm tubs leave an oily weight that carries through the years in cask. Its tiny copper stills and worm tubs give a rich, oily, full bodied spirit. Active wood frames the rich fruit without overwhelming the oily Highland spirit.

At 59.4%, undiluted, it is deep and concentrated. Chocolate, dried fruit and a waxy oil, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. Beneath it run dried fruit, chocolate and a soft oil. A long, nutty finish carries dried fruit and a soft spice. This is Edradour's full bodied, sherried Highland style.
