Description
An Edradour, a distillery bottling, at 57.1%. Edradour is a Highland single malt distilled in a pocket glen near Pitlochry since 1825. Under Signatory the range has grown to a wide run of sherry and wine cask bottlings.
Distilled slowly in the old farm stillhouse on Ben Vrackie water, giving the full bodied, creamy Highland spirit. Finished in an Oloroso cask, the wood building over the oily, full bodied spirit. With no age statement, the oak has given vanillin as vanilla and oak lactones as coconut over the rich, oily spirit. Refill oak lets the rich, oily Edradour character lead the way. The distillery sits in a pocket glen at Balnauld, in the hills above Pitlochry in Perthshire. It once supplied blends such as House of Lords and King's Ransom. Ben Vrackie water and a long ferment give the rich Edradour make.
At its natural 57.1% it is rich and full bodied. Baked apple, marzipan and a creamy malt, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. The mouthfeel is thick and oily, the fruit on a creamy body. A long, nutty finish carries dried fruit and a soft spice. This is a rich Highland malt from the pocket glen at Pitlochry.
