This Edradour was bottled by the Dutch bottler van Wees, a 9 year old, distilled in 2010, from cask 391, bottled at 58.6%, one of 644 bottles. Edradour is a creamy, sherried Highland single malt from one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland. A 2018 expansion added a second still house, the production still small and traditional.

The spirit was drawn off the tiny stills and cooled in worm tubs for an oily make, for a full, oily make of dried fruit and chocolate. Finished in an Oloroso cask, the wood building over the oily, full bodied spirit. At an extractive age eugenol lends a clove note and lactones a coconut, the spirit rich, oily and nutty. Maturation in the dunnage warehouses at Pitlochry is slow and steady. Vanillin and oak lactones from the wood lend vanilla and coconut over the fruit. A gentle maturation suits the oily make, the nutty richness growing with time.

At its natural 58.6% it is rich and full bodied. Dried fruit, chocolate and a nutty oil, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. It is rich and oily, the full bodied spirit shining through. The close is oily and warming, fruit over a gentle oak. This is a rich, oily Highland single malt.
