This official Edradour, a 25 year old, from 1999, cask 903, at 54.4%, 287 bottles in all. Edradour is a creamy, sherried Highland single malt from one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland. A rare Morton refrigerator still cools the wort, one of the last in use in Scotland.

Run through the small stills with their boil ball purifiers, giving the full bodied, creamy Highland spirit. It was matured in a Madeira cask, the wood working slowly into the rich malt. In the oxidative, evaporative years concentration brings dried fruit, fig and a chocolate depth over the oily softness. A small distillery and a hands on approach shape every cask by hand. It once supplied blends such as House of Lords and King's Ransom. Ben Vrackie water and a long ferment give the rich Edradour make. Maturation in the dunnage warehouses at Pitlochry is slow and steady.

At its natural 54.4% it is rich and full bodied. Dried fruit, chocolate and a nutty oil, with a nutty, raisined sweetness from the cask. The texture is oily and creamy, the fruit lifted by vanilla. Dried fruit, chocolate and a soft oak see out a long finish. This is a rich, oily Highland single malt.
