Edradour 200th Anniversary 1825 – 2025 25 Years Old 1999 (55.4%)

An official release of Edradour, a 25 year old, from 1999, cask 816, at 55.4%. Edradour is a Highland single malt distilled in a pocket glen near Pitlochry since 1825. Its tiny copper stills and worm tubs give a rich, oily, full bodied spirit.

The spirit was worked through Oregon pine washbacks and tiny stills for a rich, oily spirit, for a full, oily make of dried fruit and chocolate. Finished in a Bordeaux cask, the wood building over the oily, full bodied spirit. Through the evaporative decades the spirit concentrates, esters folding into dried fruit and beeswax. Active wood frames the rich fruit without overwhelming the oily Highland spirit. Refill oak lets the rich, oily Edradour character lead the way. A gentle maturation suits the oily make, the nutty richness growing with time. The worm tubs leave an oily weight that carries through the years in cask.

At a natural 55.4% it is full and oily. A rich, oily orchard fruit and almond, with a dark berry and a dry tannin from the cask. A dried fruit and a polished oak give it depth. A rich finish ends on dried fruit and a soft oak. This is the oily, rich malt of tiny Edradour.
