From the Pitlochry bottler Signatory Vintage, a 10 year old Edradour, distilled in 1995, from cask 329, bottled at 46%, one of 829 bottles. Edradour is a small, traditional Highland single malt, owned by Signatory since 2002. The distillery sits in a pocket glen at Balnauld, in the hills above Pitlochry in Perthshire.

Made in the smallest of stills and condensed in worm tubs, building the creamy Edradour style. It was matured in refill ex-Bourbon oak, a soft vanilla beneath the rich spirit. In integration lactones (coconut) and vanillin (vanilla) knit with the malt, the nutty chocolate deepening. The cool Highland air of the glen gives a slow, even maturation in the small Edradour warehouses. Long ageing turns the rich make towards dried fruit, fig and a soft spice. Years in oak round the spirit, the dried fruit and chocolate deepening over the oily core. Signatory's wide cask range gives the small distillery an unusual variety of finishes.

Reduced to 46%, it is mellow. Baked apple, marzipan and a creamy malt, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Beneath it run dried fruit, chocolate and a soft oil. The finish is long, oily and gently spiced. This is a creamy, nutty Highland single malt.
