This Edradour was bottled by the Pitlochry bottler Signatory Vintage, a 10 year old, distilled in 1993, from cask 367, bottled at 46%, one of 795 bottles. Edradour is a Highland single malt distilled in a pocket glen near Pitlochry since 1825. It once supplied blends such as House of Lords and King's Ransom.

Drawn off the tiny stills and cooled in worm tubs for an oily make, for a rich, nutty spirit with a waxy depth. First fill bourbon gave a fuller vanilla and a touch of coconut from the lactones. Through integration spirit and wood marry, vanillin settling into a rounded vanilla as ethyl esters lend a riper apple and dried fruit. Maturation in the dunnage warehouses at Pitlochry is slow and steady. It is one of the smallest traditional distilleries in Scotland, long run by just two or three hands. A gentle maturation suits the oily make, the nutty richness growing with time.

Reduced to 46%, it is mellow. A full, fruity sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. The texture is oily and creamy, the fruit lifted by vanilla. It finishes long, rich and oily. This is a Highland single malt of real character.
