    750 ml / 13%

Edouard Delaunay makes this regional Burgundy from Pinot Noir, aged in oak. It shows red cherry and berry fruit, a floral lift and the earthy, elegant character of cool-climate Burgundian Pinot.

Edouard Delaunay produces this AOC Bourgogne red from Pinot Noir, the historic estate restored by Laurent Delaunay around his great-grandfather's holdings. Regional Burgundy draws from cooler sites across the Côte, where limestone and clay soils and a temperate continental climate give Pinot Noir its bright acidity, fine tannins and red-fruited transparency. Pinot is a thin-skinned, terroir-sensitive grape, so gentle handling matters, and ageing in oak softens the structure and adds a light spice and savoury frame without burying the fruit. The wine is a medium ruby red with a perfumed nose of red cherry, raspberry and red currant lifted by a floral, faintly rosy note over a gentle earthiness. The palate is light to medium bodied, with crisp acidity, supple silky tannins and a savoury, mineral undertow that runs to a clean, elegant finish. This is a classic, food-friendly style rather than a powerful one. Serve at 15 to 16 degrees in a wide glass. It is a natural match for roast duck, game birds and mushroom dishes, and handles roast chicken with ease.
