Eckes Edelkirsch Likör

Eckes Edelkirsch is a cherry liqueur made by Nordbrand Nordhausen in Germany, bottled at 20% and built on the flavour of sun ripened cherries. The Eckes name has stood for fruit liqueurs in Germany for many decades, and this one keeps to a straightforward idea, carrying intense cherry fruit set against a pleasant liqueur sweetness and a soft, smooth structure. In the traditional macerated style of fruit liqueurs, the cherry leads, supported by gentle vanilla, almond and honey notes.

The nose is an intense aroma of ripe cherries with a fine fruity sweetness, the palate fruity and smooth with sweet cherry, a harmonious liqueur sweetness and a mild warmth, finishing round, smooth and pleasantly fruity. Behind the bar it brings cherry flavour, sweetness and a deep red colour, which suits it to fruit forward stirred drinks, a cherry sour or a sparkling serve. It pours neat slightly chilled or over ice as a fruity digestif, partners chocolate desserts and vanilla ice cream, and lengthens easily into a cocktail or long drink. Serve it lightly chilled.
