Dzama Cuvée Blanche Prestige

Dzama Cuvee Blanche Prestige is a white molasses rum from the Dzama distillery in Madagascar, bottled at 40%. Madagascar sits outside the classic rum regions, and this is a soft, perfumed white aimed more at refreshing mixed drinks than at neat sipping, leaning into floral and citrus character rather than the grassy snap of a cane juice blanc.

The nose is floral and flowery with vanilla and citrus, while the palate turns to floral, rose and a sugary, slightly sweet note, finishing on rose, soap and more floral tones. It is unusually lemony and perfumed for a white rum, quirky and fresh rather than deep or traditional. That makes it a fun mixer: it comes alive in a Mojito or a citrus forward long drink, especially when served well chilled, and many find it benefits from an extra squeeze of lemon.
