Description
Duncan Taylor is a long established Scottish bottler, and this Quarterdeck single cask draws on Uitvlugt, the closed coastal Guyanese estate. Distilled in 1997 on a pot still, it spent 24 years in ex-bourbon before bottling at a full 49.5%.
While Uitvlugt is best known for lighter Savalle column rum, this pot still expression carries more body. Expect a richer, woody profile of dark fruit, brown sugar and spice, deepened by more than two decades in oak and bottled at natural strength so the spirit shows clearly. Molasses based and from an estate no longer producing, it is a fuller, single cask take on a closed Demerara name.
