This Dufftown was bottled by A.D. Rattray, a 12 year old, distilled in 2009, from cask 700295, bottled at 52%, one of 264 bottles. Dufftown is a nutty, malty Speyside single malt from the malt whisky capital of the world. Its single malt has been sold as The Singleton of Dufftown since 2006, mainly in the UK and Europe.

It was mashed in the full lauter tun and fermented long for a clean, grassy make, building the smooth Dufftown style. Maturation came in an Oloroso cask, layered over the smooth Dufftown make. Integration folds eugenol (clove) and vanillin (vanilla) into the malt, the body softer and nuttier. The cool Speyside air gives a slow, even maturation in the Dufftown warehouses. Its water is drawn from Jock's Well, an artesian spring in the Conval Hills. Years in oak round the spirit, the green apple and malt deepening to honey. For years it made a rich, nutty, spicy spirit in the Bell's style.

At its natural 52% it is concentrated. A malty, nutty sweetness, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. It is nutty and malty, the smooth spirit shining through. The finish is smooth, nutty and gently spiced. This is a smooth, nutty Speyside single malt.
