Don Q Double Cask Finish Cognac Casks is a five year old Puerto Rican rum from Destileria Serralles, finished in Cognac casks and bottled at 49.6%. Serralles is the long established maker behind Don Q, and this release pushes the smooth Spanish style toward something with more grip and character.

The Cognac finish gives dried apricot, peach and honeyed wood alongside the rum's vanilla and gentle spice, with a fruity, oak and honey led finish. At nearly cask strength it carries noticeably more weight than a standard Spanish-style pour, while staying clean and balanced rather than funky or aggressive.
