Description
Distilleria Andrea Da Ponte make this Prosecco DOC Rosé in the Veneto from a selection of Glera and Pinot Nero, the second grape lending the pink colour and extra fruit depth. The wine takes its fizz from a long second fermentation in pressurised tank by the Charmat method, which builds a fine, persistent bead and keeps the fresh primary aromatics intact. At 11.5 per cent alcohol it stays light and refreshing, with the Brut dosage holding a dry, clean line.
The wine is a delicate rosé with a fine, sparkling texture. Raspberry and strawberry lead the nose, with a hint of flowers and citrus. The palate is fresh and lively, with a gentle fruitiness carried by refreshing acidity, closing elegant and dry with lingering red berry. Serve well chilled at 4 to 6 degrees in a tulip glass. A welcoming aperitif that suits fresh seafood, fish tartare, citrus salads and fruity desserts.
