Domaine de Severin is a traditional Guadeloupe agricole producer, and this Marsolle n.04 is a single cask finished in acacia wood, an unusual choice that shapes its character. The spirit is rhum agricole from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice, vintage 2020, aged one year and bottled unsweetened at 41%.

The acacia gives a soft, rounded influence rather than heavy oak. The nose shows barrel, wood, caramelised sugar and a touch of alcohol, while the palate is soft and floral with caramelised, woody notes, finishing sweet with sugar and gentle oak. At a year old it keeps the freshness of a young agricole, the acacia adding a delicate sweetness over the green cane core. Very accessible and easy-drinking at 41%, this is an approachable single cask that highlights an uncommon wood finish on a young Guadeloupe base.
