Domaine de Courcelles is a celebrated piece of Guadeloupe rum history, its rhum agricole bottled here under the Karukera name. This release carries a 1948 vintage, marking it as one of the island's genuinely old and sought after agricole expressions.
Made from fresh pressed sugar cane juice rather than molasses, a long matured Guadeloupe agricole of this vintage should show the grassy cane character deepened by extensive ageing into vanilla, dried fruit, leather and toasted oak. Bottled at 50%, it represents the dry, structured French island tradition in one of its oldest forms.
