Distillerie de Montréal Rosemont Rhum à L’Ananas

Rosemont Rhum a L'Ananas is a flavoured pineapple rum from Distillerie de Montreal in Canada, bottled at 40% and built squarely for refreshment. There is no pretending this is a dry aged sipper, it is a sweet, fruit forward rum in the liqueur style that puts ripe pineapple front and centre.

The aroma is pure pineapple and sugar, and the palate follows with juicy ripe fruit, honey and a noticeably syrupy weight. The finish is short and sweet, all pineapple and sugar. The fruit at least tastes natural rather than artificial, which keeps it likeable, but its sweetness and texture make it a poor fit for serious neat drinking. Served cold or poured into a cocktail it works very well, the pineapple integrating cleanly with the rum to make an easy warm weather drink.
