Dictador XO is a Spanish style rum from Colombia, made on pot and column stills from sugar cane honey, concentrated cane juice that carries more aromatic weight than molasses, and matured through a solera. The 20 on the label points to the solera system and its oldest components rather than a flat age, which is how this style is best read.
The profile is rich and roasted: coffee, caramel, toffee and chocolate with a cappuccino and crème brûlée character, finishing sweet and velvety. This is a smooth, sweet, dessert leaning rum, and the copy treats it as such rather than as a dry sipper.
