Description
Rima 1 2003 is a single-cask release in Dictador's vintage range, a 2003 Colombian rum aged nineteen years in ex-bourbon wood at Destileria Colombiana. As a vintage-dated single barrel it carries the house character at a slightly younger age than the older Rima bottlings, and in a more restrained key.
This is a notably light and even-handed expression. Soft sweetness, gentle wood, leather and dried fruit run consistently through the aroma, palate and finish, with a roasted edge but none of the heaviness of its darker siblings. At 43% it is an approachable, mellow Colombian sipper, the kind of single cask that favours subtlety over intensity. It suits a drinker after the producer's signature coffee-and-oak profile in a softer, more easygoing form.
