Dictador Rima 1 2001

Dictador's Rima 1 is a single cask release from Destilería Colombiana, drawn from a 2001 vintage and bottled after roughly twenty one years in ex-bourbon wood. Dictador works in the Colombian solera and aged ron tradition, and this expression sits at the older, single-barrel end of that range, dark in the glass and built on long oak contact.

Column distilled and matured in ex-bourbon barrels, it leads with coffee, walnut and a nutty, roasted edge alongside caramel and vanilla. The palate stays light and sweet for its strength, with cinnamon, faint leather and orange threading through, while the finish turns spicy and woody. At 44% it carries a little more grip than the standard line without losing the soft Colombian character. A contemplative single cask for fans of coffee-and-cocoa leaning ron.
