A 24 year old single cask Colombian from Dictador, distilled from molasses on a column still in 1998, aged in ex-bourbon oak and bottled unsweetened at 41% in the Borbón series.
Description
Dictador is Colombia's best known ron house, and this Párrafo I Borbón is a single cask from a 1998 vintage, aged 24 years in ex-bourbon oak. Notably for the brand, it is recorded as unsweetened, a dry counterpoint to Dictador's softer mainstream range, bottled at 41%.
Colombian ron of this lineage typically leans toward coffee, cocoa, vanilla, oak and dried fruit, and over two decades in bourbon oak those darker, roasted notes tend to deepen. With no added sugar to round it off, expect a drier, more oak driven reading where age and cask do the work rather than dosage. This is the contemplative end of Colombian ron, built for slow sipping.
