Description
Dictador Obra American Oak 2001 is a single cask Colombian rum from Destileria Colombiana, part of the Obra line that frames Dictador around individual barrels. This one spent twenty-two years in American oak, the ex-bourbon route that tends to favour vanilla and toffee.
Distilled in 2001 from molasses and bottled at 41%, it should drink in the Colombian house style, coffee, cocoa and vanilla over soft oak, rounded and easy. The added-sugar status is not recorded, so it is fairly read as a smooth, dessert-leaning aged ron typical of Dictador rather than a dry one.
