Depaz Les Millésimes 2015

Depaz Les Millesimes 2015 comes from the Depaz estate at the foot of Mont Pelee in Martinique, a distillery with a volcanic terroir story and a place within the island's rum AOC. Distilled from fresh cane juice and matured in ex-bourbon wood, this 8 year old vintage is bottled at a comfortable 45%.

The style here is calm and dessert like rather than fierce. Dried fruit, young wood and confection on the nose give way to a palate of gentle oak, vanilla and creme brulee, and the finish carries dried fruit, allspice and honey with the oak kept discreet. The grassy agricole core sits under a soft, pastry leaning sweetness from the wood. An elegant, easygoing aged agricole for drinkers who like dried fruit and vanilla warmth, well suited to relaxed neat sipping.
