Debowa Military 70 is a Polish grain vodka with a twist: a piece of oak sits inside every bottle. Made by the Debowa Polska distillery in Siedlec, its name means “Polish oak”. That oak gives a subtle woody note over an otherwise smooth grain spirit, and this version comes cased like a cartridge shell.

Description
Debowa Polska was founded in 1982 by the Markiewicz brothers in the village of Siedlec in western Poland, and its name, "Polish oak", points to the signature trick: a piece of oak wood is placed inside each bottle. The vodka is made from grain and clear water, distilled several times and then charcoal-filtered to remove impurities while keeping its character. The oak insert lends a gentle, woody note over time, and the Military 70 release is dressed in a wooden casing shaped like a cartridge shell.
The nose is soft and cereal-led, the palate is mild, lightly tart and balanced with clear notes of wood, and the finish is long. The oak character is the whole point here, so let it lead: serve it neat in a small tumbler over a single large ice cube, with no mixer to bury the wood. As the ice slowly opens it up, the gentle oak note comes forward against the smooth grain, much like sipping a lightly aged spirit.
