A cask-strength Guadeloupe agricole from ReimonenQ, selected by David’s Rum Selection and bottled at a hefty 60.4%, dense with brown sugar, allspice and clove over dried fruit, orange peel and a roasted, oily finish.
Description
ReimonenQ is a traditional Guadeloupe distillery, and this Sauvage bottling was hand-picked by David's Rum Selection, an independent choosing a single full-strength agricole from the house. Made under Guadeloupe's IGP rather than the Martinique AOC, it is amber cane-juice rum bottled straight from cask without dilution.
Distilled from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice and bottled at a forceful 60.4%, it leans rich and spicy rather than grassy and light. The nose offers a vegetal base under brown sugar, allspice and clove, while the palate brings wood, dried fruit, more allspice and a twist of orange peel. The finish stays woody and oily with a roasted, polished note. This is a warming, spice-driven agricole that wears its proof openly, one for drinkers who want their cane-juice rum dark, dry and full of barrel spice.
