Description

Damoiseau Statera is the work of the largest distillery in Guadeloupe and one of the island's biggest export names, based at Le Moule. As an agricole it is built from fresh-pressed sugar cane juice rather than molasses, distilled on a column still in the manner that gives the style its green, vegetal backbone.

Bottled at an approachable 40%, it should show the grassy, cane-forward character typical of Guadeloupe agricole, dry rather than sweet. An everyday French-island rum, easy to reach for neat or as the base of a Ti Punch.
