Damoiseau Rhum Vieux Agricole

Damoiseau is the largest distillery in Guadeloupe and a major export name, and this Vieux Agricole carries a generous fifteen years of age. Distilled from fresh sugar-cane juice, with the spirit drawn from the Bellevue distillery and matured in ex-bourbon barrels, it sits within Guadeloupe's IGP framework rather than the Martinique AOC.

Long, gentle ageing has produced an elegant, rounded rum: warm brown sugar and caramel, herbal agricole notes, vanilla and a soft woody frame, with a nutty, vegetal finish. At 42% it is light and approachable, an easy, relaxed sipper rather than a cask-strength heavyweight. The aromas are particularly graceful, and while it leans toward gentle drinkability over intensity, it makes for a pleasant, mellow aged agricole-style rum to unwind with.
