Damoiseau Les Arrangés Mangue Passion

Damoiseau's Les Arrangés range macerates fruit into Guadeloupe cane juice rum, and this Mangue Passion is firmly a flavoured rhum arrangé rather than a dry agricole. The base is genuine fresh cane juice spirit, but the finished product is a fruit liqueur and reads as one.

At a gentle 30% it is intensely fruity and openly sweet, the nose and palate dominated by ripe mango, passion fruit and other yellow tropical fruits over a soft vanilla sweetness, with the alcohol still showing a little in the finish. There is no pretending this is a structured sipping rum: it is candy-forward and made for pleasure. Serve it well chilled as an aperitif or blend it into tropical cocktails, where the bright mango and passion fruit do exactly what the label promises. Anyone chasing classic agricole snap should look elsewhere.
