A Guadeloupe blanc from Damoiseau, the island’s largest distillery, made from fresh cane juice and bottled at 40%, a soft, accessible white of citrus, herbs and tropical fruit with a dry, gently spiced finish.
Description
Damoiseau, sometimes traced through the Bellevue distillery, is the largest rum producer in Guadeloupe and a major export name. This Blanc is its entry white, made from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice as an unaged agricole under the island's IGP, pitched at an easy strength for everyday use.
Bottled at 40% with sweetening undisclosed, it noses fruity and citrusy with herbal and faint caramel notes, then drinks on citrus, light sweetness, florals and tropical fruit before a dry finish carrying spice, greenery and fruit. The low proof makes it gentle and approachable rather than intense, a simple and pleasant agricole that leans more fruity than aggressively grassy. It sits naturally in cocktails and mixed drinks, a serviceable Ti' Punch base, while remaining undemanding enough for a light neat pour for those new to cane-juice rum.
