A 9 year old Dalmunach from the independent Dràm Mòr, 2016, at 57.3%. Apple, pear and a soft honey run through it, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. A young distillery, so most bottlings are independent single casks. Single malt Dalmunach is scarce, the spirit being a blend component first. This is a new Speyside name on the Spey.

Description
The independent Dràm Mòr bottled this Dalmunach, a 9 year old, distilled in 2016, from cask 887, bottled at 57.3%, one of 236 bottles. Dalmunach is a clean, fresh, fruity Speyside single malt from one of Scotland's newest large distilleries. Sixteen stainless washbacks feed four wash and four spirit stills.
It was made in modern copper stills for a clean, fresh make, for a light, fruity make of real freshness. A sherry cask wrapped the fresh spirit in dried fruit and a nutty depth. At an extractive age eugenol lends a clove note and lactones a coconut, the young spirit fresh, clean and fruity. The clean, fruity make takes a sherry or wine cask especially well at a young age. Water comes from the Balintomb Burn, near the River Spey at Carron. Even young, the spirit shows a clean, fruity Speyside charm. Dalmunach's modern, efficient stillhouse gives a consistent, fruity spirit.
At its natural 57.3% it is concentrated. Orchard fruit, vanilla and a soft spice, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. Apple, pear and a soft honey fill the middle. A fresh, fruity finish carries a citrus lift. This is a bright, fruity Speyside single malt.
