An 8 year old Dalmunach from A.D. Rattray, 2015, at 65.9%. Apple, citrus and a soft honey fill the glass. Its eight stills stand in a striking circular cluster, a showpiece of modern design. A young distillery, so most bottlings are independent single casks. Single malt Dalmunach is scarce, the spirit being a blend component first. This is a young, fresh Speyside malt.

Description
A.D. Rattray bottled this Dalmunach, an 8 year old, distilled in 2015, from cask 4191, bottled at 65.9%, one of 300 bottles. Dalmunach was opened in 2015 by Chivas Brothers, making a light, fruity Speyside malt for Chivas Regal. The name comes from the Dalmunach pool, a stretch of the Spey beside the distillery.
Drawn off four wash and four spirit stills in their circular cluster, for a bright, modern Speyside spirit. First fill bourbon gave a fuller vanilla over the clean spirit. Bottled young and extractive, the oak gives quick vanillin (vanilla) and oak lactones (coconut) over a lively, fruity malt. Refill oak lets the fresh Dalmunach character lead, apple and citrus beneath. The light, fruity spirit is made chiefly for the Chivas Regal blends. Most Dalmunach is laid down for blending, a little finding its way into single cask bottlings. The fresh, fruity make is a model of the new Speyside style.
At cask strength 65.9% it is full bodied. Apple, pear and a soft honey, with a soft vanilla from the oak. A green apple and a gentle spice lift it. The finish runs clean, fruity and bright. This is a young, fresh Speyside single malt.
