Description
From North Star Spirits, a 6 year old Dalmunach, distilled in 2016, bottled at 56.4%, one of 285 bottles. Dalmunach is a clean, fruity Speyside single malt of the new generation. Chivas Brothers built it to replace the lost capacity of Imperial, which was demolished in 2013.
Run through the distillery's tulip and onion shaped stills, for a bright, modern Speyside spirit. A wine cask finish layered fruit over the fruity malt. Bottled young and extractive, the oak gives quick vanillin (vanilla) and oak lactones (coconut) over a lively, fruity malt. Independent bottlers have been quick to release young single casks of this new distillery. The fresh, fruity make is a model of the new Speyside style. It is one of the largest and most efficient malt distilleries in Scotland, with a heat recovery system. The name comes from the Dalmunach pool, a stretch of the Spey beside the distillery.
Bottled at a cask strength 56.4%, it is rich. Apple, lemon and a clean malt, with plum and red berry from the cask. Apple, pear and a soft honey fill the middle. Apple, honey and a soft oak see out the finish. This is a bright, fruity Speyside single malt.
