Description
This official Dalmore, a 20 year old, at 43.8%. Dalmore was founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson and long run by the Mackenzies. Its long time master distiller Richard Paterson, known as The Nose, shaped the rich house style.
The spirit was distilled for the thick, full bodied spirit Dalmore is known for, building the luscious Dalmore style. An aged Oloroso cask wrapped the rich spirit in dried fruit, chocolate and orange, the Dalmore signature. In the oxidative middle years oxidation draws out a deeper dried fruit, vanillin and lactones fully expressed. Long ageing turns the fresh orange towards marmalade, dark chocolate, coffee and a warm spice. The distillery was founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson on the Cromarty Firth at Alness. An aged Oloroso cask suits the rich spirit, dried fruit and chocolate meeting the oily weight. The rich, oily spirit takes cask flavour superbly, especially aged sherry wood.
Reduced to 43.8%, it is mellow. A rich, oily chocolate orange, with dried fruit, chocolate and orange from the cask. Marmalade, chocolate and dried fruit fill the middle. The finish runs rich, fruity and warm. This is Dalmore, rich with orange and dark chocolate.
