Crucial Drinks Monymusk Rum & Cane 21 is a single cask Jamaican rum from the Monymusk distillery, aged 21 years and bottled at 51% by Crucial Drinks for its Rum & Cane range. Monymusk is the brand name for Clarendon's pot and column output, a workhorse Clarendon-parish house whose pot still marks can be very funky, so expect tropical fruit, spice and the island's ester edge.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled unsweetened at cask strength, 51%, this is a long-aged single cask at full proof. Two decades of ageing rounds the pot still esters with vanilla, dried fruit and oak spice, while the higher strength keeps the texture weighty and the funk present.
