Description
Claxton's, a Yorkshire independent, bottles this Croftengea in its Warehouse No. 8 series. A heavily peated Loch Lomond malt, a young 5 year old from 2017 in Pedro Ximenez, cask C22077.
Five years in PX load the young peat with the sweetest sherry, the cask's melanoidins giving raisin and date against the smoke.
At 59.5% the dark PX raisin plays against a vigorous wood smoke, guaiacol and phenols carrying the reek. A young PX peated Croftengea.
