From The Whisky Agency's Sequences series, this Croftengea is one of Loch Lomond's heavily peated malts, a 16 year old from 2006.
Sixteen years in ex-Bourbon soften the peat, the oak's vanillin a sweet foil to the smoke.
At 52.2% it shows a malty note, a glasshouse-green and hay-like freshness, honey and new wood over the wood smoke, guaiacol and phenols carrying the reek. A peated Croftengea.
