From Edition Spirits' First Editions range, this Croftengea is a peat-forward Loch Lomond malt, a 12 year old from 2006, cask HL 15540.
Twelve years in ex-Bourbon soften the peat, the oak's vanillin a sweet foil to the smoke.
At 53.9% the wood smoke runs over the malt, guaiacol and phenols carrying the reek. A peated First Editions Croftengea.
