This Cragganmore was bottled by the Pitlochry bottler Signatory Vintage, a 33 year old, distilled in 1985, from cask 1241, bottled at 53.4%, one of 199 bottles. Cragganmore, the Speyside Classic Malt, is prized for one of the most complex characters in the region. It was the first distillery deliberately sited beside a railway, the Strathspey line carrying its whisky out.

The spirit was distilled for the complex, fragrant spirit Cragganmore is known for, for the complex, fragrant make Cragganmore is known for. It was matured in refill ex-Bourbon oak, vanilla and a soft honey behind the complex malt. At a great, fragile age oxidation rules, sotolon lending maple and old oak as leather and a savoury depth linger. The slow loss of the angel's share concentrates the fragrant, savoury core over the years. The distillery sits at Ballindalloch on the River Spey, in the heart of Speyside.

At a natural 53.4% it is full and honeyed. Apple, dried fruit and a meaty edge, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Dried fruit, malt and a herbal spice fill the middle. The finish is long, complex and savoury. This is Cragganmore, the heart of Old Parr.
