A Cragganmore of a 24 year old chosen by Scotland's oldest independent bottler Cadenhead's, distilled in 1989, bottled at 57.5%, one of 510 bottles. Cragganmore is a fragrant, complex Speyside single malt from Ballindalloch on the Spey. Worm tub condensers give the spirit a meaty weight, balanced by the reflux of the flat topped stills.

The spirit was run through the distillery's unusual flat topped wide neck stills, for a full, complex Speyside spirit. It rested in ex-Bourbon oak, the wood adding a light honeyed vanilla. At this evaporative stage ellagitannins lend a drying structure while oxidation builds a richer, meatier fruit. The cool Speyside air gives a slow, even maturation, the flat topped stills' complexity deepening. The complex, fragrant spirit takes cask flavour well while keeping its meaty, malty core. Water comes from the Craggan Burn, off the slopes of Craggan More hill.

At a natural 57.5% it is full and honeyed. A complex, malty fruitiness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. It is fragrant and savoury, the complex spirit shining through. The finish is long, complex and savoury. This is a fragrant, dried fruit rich Speyside single malt.
