Description
Corralejo Triple Destilado Reposado is a 100% agave tequila from Corralejo, NOM 1368, in Penjamo, Guanajuato. Where most tequila is distilled twice, this expression takes an unusual triple route, first through a copper pot, then through a column still, then through a copper pot again, which yields a lighter, more polished spirit of pale straw colour.
It then rests six months in French oak casks, the tighter, spicier oak that lends the soft, silky finish the house highlights. The nose shows vanilla, pepper and cooked pear, with the French oak adding gentle spice over the agave. The Hacienda Corralejo dates to 1775 as one of the earliest commercial tequila distilleries and today houses a wine and bottle museum on its grounds in Guanajuato. Bottled at 38%.
