Cockspur Balla Black

Cockspur is a long established Barbados name produced at the West Indies Rum Distillery in Bridgetown, the island's volume producer with the most varied still park on Barbados. Balla Black is its dark, flavoured expression, column distilled from molasses and bottled soft at 40%. This is not a dry, austere sipper but a sweeter, dessert-leaning rum, with the record pointing to peppery spice, vanilla and a pronounced coffee, almost coffee-liqueur character. Treated for what it is, it works best as an easy after-dinner pour or in a cola, where the roasted, sweet profile carries. A casual, approachable Bajan rum aimed at relaxed drinking rather than contemplative sipping.
