This Clynelish was bottled by the bottler James Eadie, a 12 year old, distilled in 2013, bottled at 52.5%, one of 982 bottles. Clynelish is the coastal Highland malt whose waxiness has made it a cult favourite. The original Clynelish was founded in 1819 by the Marquess of Stafford during the Highland Clearances.

The spirit was distilled for the waxy, oily spirit Clynelish is known for, building the cult Clynelish waxiness. A bourbon barrel held it, vanilla and a little coconut under the wax. Through integration spirit and wood marry, vanillin settling into vanilla as ethyl esters lend a riper citrus over the wax. Refill oak lets the famous Clynelish wax lead, lemon and honey beneath. The wax sits at the heart of the spirit, the cask building fruit and honey around it. Clynelish sits on the North Sea coast at Brora, in the far north east of the Highlands. Clynelish wax and a maritime salt run through the maturing spirit.

At a natural 52.5% it is full and oily. Beeswax, citrus and a honeyed oil, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Beneath it run candle wax, lemon and a coastal salt. The finish is deep, waxy and maritime. This is the cult waxy malt of Brora.
