Clos Cibonne makes this Côtes de Provence rosé from Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Tibouren grown on shale and clay just 800 metres from the sea. Pale and dry, it shows wild strawberry, white peach and a fresh, herbal, saline lift.
Description
Tentations Rosé comes from Clos Cibonne in Le Pradet, a historic Côtes de Provence estate close to the Mediterranean. Its 15 hectares of shale and clay sit just 800 metres from the coast, ringed by slopes that form a natural bowl facing the sea. That setting drives a constant circulation of air that cools the vineyard and keeps ripening even, helping the fruit reach maturity while holding on to acidity. The blend is a traditional Provençal mix of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and the local Tibouren, the grape that gives Clos Cibonne its distinctive savour. The wine is pressed gently to take only the palest juice and fermented cool to protect aromatics, producing a dry, delicate style rather than a fruity one. The colour is pale and luminous, the classic soft pink of the Côte d'Azur. The nose offers wild strawberry, white peach and white flowers over a thread of garrigue herbs, and the palate is crisp, dry and mineral, with a saline freshness from the maritime site. Serve well chilled at around 8 to 10 degrees. It is a natural partner for grilled fish, shellfish and Mediterranean vegetables.
