Clément Rhum Agricole

Clement is a long-standing Martinique estate with three centuries of history, and this is its standard white agricole, an AOC blanc made from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice. It is the approachable, everyday face of the house, built for mixing as much as sipping.

Distilled on a column still and left unaged, it shows a softer, gentler take on the grassy agricole template. The nose offers apple, floral and fruity notes with a touch of alcohol, while the palate is grassy and soft with fruit and a saline edge. The finish brings licorice, vegetal notes, raisin and prunes. At 40% the proof is on the low side and the flavours are restrained rather than punchy, which makes it a natural mixing white. Unsweetened and easygoing, it is a fine base for a Ti' Punch or a Daiquiri, made for drinkers who want an accessible, grassy agricole for cocktails.
