Description
Clement Private Cask 2015 is a single cask Martinique agricole from the Distillerie du Simon, selected and bottled by Heinz Eggert GmbH in Germany. Independent single casks of Clement are less common than the house range, and this one leans into rustic power over the brand's usual polish.
Distilled from fresh cane juice on a creole column kept low for grassy character, then matured close to six years in ex bourbon oak, it sits at full strength. The nose offers orange, wood, vanilla and herbs, the palate vanilla, roasted oak, wood and cinnamon, and the finish stays woody and roasted with orange and spice. Unsweetened at 55.5 percent, it is assertive and a touch raw, opening up with air in the glass, an oak driven agricole for drinkers who want punch and personality more than refinement.
