Description
Clement works from a 300-year Martinique estate and is strong in aged expressions. This Cuvee Robert Peronet is rhum agricole, distilled from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice on a creole column still and bottled unsweetened at 44%, a special edition showcasing the house's rounded, oak-driven aged style.
The nose is balanced and woody with a roasted edge and a touch of cherry, while the palate is where it shines, full and oily with a deep, rounded body and real intensity for its strength. Toasted oak frames a finish of spice, more wood and a ripe banana note. Tropical maturation has built genuine richness here, the grassy agricole core folded into roundness and spice rather than left fresh and green. A polished, full-bodied Martinique agricole that drinks smooth and deep, well suited to slow neat sipping.
